Name asteroids are amazing! When you see their strong presence in the charts of people and events, you can hardly chalk it up to mere coincidence. It seems to be part of a cosmic order.
Between the orbits of Mars (with a two-year period) and Jupiter (with a twelve-year period) are thousands and thousands of tiny heavenly bodies (with orbital periods in the four- to six-year range) forming “the asteroid belt.” All newly discovered heavenly bodies are assigned a number and given a name. The first few asteroids discovered were given names of gods and goddesses from mythology. After that, they were given proper names, sometimes of specific famous people, sometimes simply a common first or last name or even a place. These are what are known as “name asteroids.” You can check a list of them to see if any are significant in your life. Note their number and then look up their zodiacal position at your birth.
I remember my mind being blown by Martha Lang Wescott when she spoke to the Astrological Society of Connecticut in 1994 about name asteroids. Then there was Jacob Schwartz’s examination of the many extraordinary interconnections between the asteroids Oja, Nicole, Brown and Simpson in the charts of OJ Simpson and his ex-wife and her tragic murder.
When I turned 50, a newly discovered asteroid was named Booth (#13825). Soon afterward, I ordered a customized bead necklace representing my birth chart with different stones or beads for the various heavenly bodies. I wanted a bead for Booth. That prompted me to see if there is an asteroid Janet. There is not, but there’s one with a close spelling and sound, Janhoet, (#12534), named for a Belgian museum director. (When there is no asteroid matching the name you search for, try working with a similarly named asteroid.) It turns out these two were traveling less than two degrees apart in the weeks surrounding when I was born. And this is even crazier. The zodiac position of the four directions or “angles” of a chart from the viewpoint of a particular location on earth changes a degree every few minutes. At my exact birth time and place, my eastern horizon or “ascendant” degree was in that 2-degree area between Janhoet and Booth. The ascendant relates to one’s personality, individuality, how one is seen, one’s appearance, even one’s name. Being born then and there, it was cosmically appropriate for me to be Janet Booth. Or if my soul/spirit chose to be Janet Booth, that was a cosmically appropriate time and place to be born. My mother had chosen Janet to name her first born if a girl, but that turned out to be my brother Don. Then she had two daughters and named neither of them Janet. She had a false labor a couple weeks before I was born and had been thinking of naming a girl Nancy. Then the neighbors had a girl and named her Nancy. (And there is an asteroid named Nancy, #2056, which was nowhere near Booth then.) So when I came along, I got to be Janet and I had to be Janet. You can’t make this s___ up!
Recently, I looked for name asteroids for a big name in the news, Natalie Harp. There is an asteroid Natalie (#448) but no Harp. There is Harper, though (#16254). In Donald Trump’s chart, asteroid Natalie is at 18º33’ Leo, very close to the August 12 solar eclipse at 20º2’ Leo. His Harper is at 6º40’ Virgo, close to the August 27 lunar eclipse at 4º54’ Virgo. Eclipses bring a big spotlight and that’s certainly the case here. Furthermore, using Natalie Harp’s birth date of August 8, 1991, she was born with Mercury and Venus teamed up around 6º Virgo. Mercury is associated with news and Venus with relationships and money. Her relationship with Trump and money he gave her showed up in all the news outlets around the time of these eclipses.
The midpoint of the positions of the two name asteroids Natalie and Harper in Trump’s chart is 27º37’ Leo, less than a degree from the midpoint of his own Mars and ascendant at 28º22’ Leo. Midpoints blend the energies/influences of two planets or angles in a chart. Mars is a very self-oriented, even self-centered, indicator and the ascendant is the most personal point of a chart; their blend is where one is highly focused on oneself. Thus we see Trump’s egocentric focus is aligned cosmically with Natalie Harp(er).
At Natalie Harp’s birth (using just her date without a specific time or place), asteroid Donn (#4689) is at 10º Leo, the same degree as Trump’s Pluto, a planet of money, power, sexual attraction and potentially destructive forces. The asteroid Troemper (#28130) is at 25º Taurus, the degree of Trump’s Midheaven (the southern angle), associated with reputation, status, career and place in the world. It would be natural to assume she is drawn to his fame, position, power and money. The asteroid Whitehouse (#4036) – yes, there’s an asteroid named that! – was at 7º Leo at her birth, near her midpoint of the Sun (how one shines, one’s visibility) and Chiron (a large asteroid or captured comet in our solar system associated with wounds and the healing of wounds). Perhaps her role in the White House can be said to have a healing influence, but equally she can cause wounds there (or working as a White House aide). Likewise, she herself may be wounded or healed by working for the White House.
