When Janet Booth graduated from Drew University in 1974 with a B.A. in Behavioral Studies, she had no idea such a strong foundation in understanding people would develop into an unusual and unanticipated career. Astrology was just a casual interest until she began studying it formally in 1976, starting a fire in her heart that still burns strong today. By 1979, she was ready to turn her passion for astrology into a profession and she began reading charts for more than just fun. A year later, she opened her first office and began teaching. Now she serves an international clientele of individuals, couples and businesses and shares her love of astrology through writing and lecturing.
Being born with the name Janet Booth turned out to be serendipitous! Janet rhymes with planet, lending itself to the publication name Janet’s Plan-its, used for forecast calendars Janet wrote from 2001 to 2017. Now it’s the name of her daily guidance messages, which appear at the top of her homepage and are sent, with messages for the week ahead, to her email list. And what more appropriate name could she have for her business than Astrology Booth, LLC and for her website than AstrologyBooth.com? Certified by the National Council for Geocosmic Research (NCGR), her work has been featured in the prestigious astrological magazine, The Mountain Astrologer. She enjoys educating the public about astrology and has taught astrology from beginner to advanced levels, including at the United Astrology Conference (UAC) in 2002 and 2008. She’s lectured at numerous other conferences and to dozens of astrological groups.
Janet’s media experience stretches back to being a guest on radio shows since 1981 and on local cable TV shows in the ‘90s, through hosting and producing Looking Up, a half-hour monthly show on West Hartford Community Television, her hometown cable access station (2000 to 2020), posted online, to today being interviewed on podcasts.
Known for her practical, real-world advice and optimistic take on life, Janet offers the standard menu of reading services and consultation and more. One of her specialties is Electional Astrology, which she calls Time Selection, recommending optimal times for clients to take action or do what they want or need to do. She likes a good time, too. With a background in community theater and comedy improve, she always entertains while she educates. She enjoys reading at events and for small groups of friends at what she calls Star Parties.
An instrumental leader of the Astrological Society of Connecticut, Inc., she’s worn many hats for decades on their board of directors and served as their President twice, first at the millennium and again 24 years later.
